Tuition and Fees

The fee schedule (Domestic students) provides details about tuition and supplementary fees. Please note that fees are assessed per academic year.

In addition to these fees, full-time students must pay a one-time, $1500 internship fee. ($750 per internship term)

International students should be aware that tuition fees are substantially higher than for Canadian students. External funding opportunities for international students are also limited.

Payment Method

Payments are made directly to McMaster University’s Student Accounts and Cashiers office.

Financial Support

Full-time Students

Students accepted into the thesis option are offered these funding supports each academic year:

  • A $3000 Graduate Scholarship
  • A $2000 Research Scholarship
  • A paid teaching assistant or research assistant position each year if available

Students accepted into the course-based option are offered a $3000 graduate scholarship each year.

Internship positions are typically paid, however, paid positions are not guaranteed.

Most students finish the program in 24 months, but you have up to 36 months to meet all the requirements. Funding is only available for the first 24 months.

Part-time Students

There is currently no financial support for part-time students.
